The teeth of sharks are not attached to the jaw, but embedded in the flesh, and in many species are constantly replaced throughout the shark's life. All sharks have multiple rows of teeth along the edges of their upper and lower jaws. New teeth grow continuously in a groove just inside the mouth and move forward from inside the mouth on a "conveyor belt" formed by the skin in which they are anchored. In some sharks rows of teeth are replaced every 8–10 days, while in other species they could last several months.
Often the only parts of the shark to survive as
fossils are teeth. Fossil shark teeth have been dated back hundreds of millions of years. The most ancient types of sharks date back to 450 million years ago, and they are mostly known from their fossilized teeth. The prices of fossil shark teeth depend upon the overall quality of the fossil tooth. We only sell  jewelry grade fossil shark tooth necklaces.   The great white shark is a streamlined swimmer and a ferocious predator with 3,000 teeth at any one time. This much-feared fish has a torpedo-shaped body, a pointed snout, a crescent-shaped tail, 5 gill slits, no fin spines, an anal fin, and 3 main fins: the dorsal fin on its back and 2 pectoral fins on its sides. When the shark is near the surface, the dorsal fin and part of the tail are visible above the water.

The hammerhead shark is easily identified by its thick, broad head, which looks very much like the profile of mallet. It reaches a maximum length of 11 feet. The shape of the shark's head wide and flattened serves important biological functions. First, it provides lift, which improves the shark's swimming abilities.

Oceanic whitetip shark Long, broadly rounded pectoral and first dorsal fins. Blotchy white coloration on tips of pectoral, first dorsal, pelvic, and lower caudal fins. Second dorsal and anal fin tipped in black. Dorsal coloration olive brown to bronze. Ventral surface pale.
